Vanderbilt Launches the Curb Program in Creative Enterprise and Public Leadership and Creative Campus Initiative

Launch of the Curb Program in Creative Enterprise and Public Leadership

The Curb Center for Art, Enterprise and Public Policy at Vanderbilt announces the Fall 2009 launch of the Curb Program in Creative Enterprise and Public Leadership.

The Curb Program, which includes the Undergraduate Scholars program, and ultimately, a fifth-year Master’s Degree, is modeled after the career of Mike Curb—philanthropist, founder of Curb Records, and former lieutenant governor of California.  The program emphasizes fluency across private and public sectors, commitment to public service, appreciation for craftsmanship and design, and a critical approach to decisions affecting the nation’s system of creative enterprise and expression.  The launch of the program is marked by the arrival of our first cohort of Curb Scholars, new faculty and courses, innovative programming, and the a faculty task force who will provide guidance to Vanderbilt’s emerging Creative Campus initiative.
